![]() ![]() Depending on which one you choose, you'll start out earning money by transporting passengers, looking for good trade deals, or perhaps mining asteroids or taking jobs escorting freighter convoys. The backwater planet where you grew up only sells three ship models: a shuttle, a cargo barge, and a light interceptor. Endless Sky is free and open source, the product of a growing community of developers and content creators.Īfter years of working a factory job, you have finally saved up enough money to apply for a pilot's license and make a down payment on your very first starship. ![]() Or leave human space behind and hope to find friendly aliens whose culture is more civilized than your own.ĭownloads are available for Mac OS X and Windows, and many Linux distributions are also supported. Use your earnings to buy a better ship or to upgrade the weapons and engines on your current one. Earn money by trading, carrying passengers, or completing missions. These ships are better as escorts than as flagship but can easily tear apart anything you will see in the Free Worlds campaign.Endless Sky is a 2D space trading and combat game similar to the classic Escape Velocity series. Even better these ships have no crew so capturing is just a roll of tge dice but you don't need any extra crew. The 2 faction will relentlessly attack eachother and you can loot and capture from the debris. Then run far from the center and watch the fireworks. Then take a fast and durable ship (I'd recc a mule, vanguard or osprey) and head just south of Hai space (west by NW from human space) eventually you will run into the Kor Mereti and Kor Sestor. Alternatively trying to get to remnant space may be a decent optionįor a more extreme very spilers gamechanger, I'd recommend: aquire a jump drive, either from the pug or korath. These are vastly better than the pug stuff. Pug are decent but if you want a slighty spoiler answer then I'd recommend: Go to the hai up to the NW and try to get a shield beetle or sit around with a decent fleet around Polaris or Sheratan and wait for a Korath rafmder and pillage its jump drive, weapons and systems. I would try and see if you can't aquire a heavy warship (possibly by stealing from the pirates or the republic if they are still hostile). You may have to do a few jobs to raise your reputation, but the capital ship you find there can easily solo all the human campaign missions for ~36k credits. If you want, take a stroll through the uninhabited systems in the northeast of the map and see what you can find. ~3-5 dreadnaughts with plasma turrets and (preferably) atomic engines will make quick work of the pug (they have low max shield and hull numbers).Ĭ) Alien ships: As said, the pug are about on tier with humans, every other alien race in the game is much much stronger. ![]() Although it may seem that you’re stuck in a mission chain, most missions actually have no deadline, so you can drag your fleet across the galaxy and prepare as much as you want. As long as you’re fast enough, you can outrun the fidget spinners of death and do feee damage.ī) Upgrade to a strong human fleet. As other’s have said, your fleet is relatively weak for your place in the game, here are your options:Ī) Cheapest but hardest option: park your slow ships, then by a super fast and light ship (flivver/arrow/headhunter), equip the strongest longest range missiles you can find, then kite them to death. Instead, try to keep your fleet together and use “f” after selecting an enemy ship to focus and burst down individual ships one at a time. This means that if your ships spread their damage between multiple different pug ships (each fleet member attacks a different enemy) you will often kill no enemy ships. In general, pug ships more or less match human ships in strength, but they have much much higher shield regeneration. ![]() To fix this, load an earlier save and make sure you hold “j” (jump) in every system (especially the one before the battle) and wait until all the ships are lined up and ready to jump. However, if you’re piloting a faster ship, you often end up leaving the dreadnaughts/cruisers behind when you jump, resulting in the whole fleet arriving and getting picked off one at a time. Those enemies are definitely beatable, here’s some tips and tricks:Īre you sure that ur allied fleet is with you? In this part of the game, you always have a fleet of npc ships which follow you around in addition to your fleet. ![]()
